An Unexpected Treat

The outdoor chairs looked like they had been sitting outside for two years. I wanted to remove the grey brown laquer and reseal them, but neither of my sanders would get close to the frame. I bought a detail sander which had been designed for such a task and the job became easy.

The eucalyptus slats were a range of reddish browns. I couldn’t believe how nicely coloured they were nor why such a yucky laquer had been used to hide them. Four coats of teak oil didn’t impair the beauty and hopefully will keep the chairs looking good all summer.

Even if I have to work on them come winter, I wont mind as they will have made me smile so often before then.
